One of Manchester’s busiest streets for retail, leisure, and food and drink, King Street, has announced a vibrant ‘Queen Street’ takeover to celebrate Manchester Pride and honour the city’s LQBTQ+ community.

The campaign will involve an exhibition of captivating images and bios of prominent figures from the community, highlighting the impact that drag queens and queer people have had on Manchester.

‘Queen Street’, in collaboration with HEADS and Doll Parts, will also fundraise for national LGBTQ+ charities, ATK and George House Trust and will begin with a launch party at 58 King Street on Friday 23rd August from 6pm – 10pm, featuring a live DJ and special performances as the exhibition runs until the evening of Sunday 25th August.

Queens involved include BBC Ru Paul’s Drag Race stars, Banksie, Bailey J Mills, Liqourice Black, and more.

Holly Whitcomb, Associate Director at DTZ Investors, said: “We’re delighted to be marking the Manchester Pride celebrations this year with an ode to the incredible LGBTQ+ community. ‘Queen Street’ will highlight the significant contributions of these important figures to Manchester’s culture, which will not only promote diversity but also drive awareness and support for the queer community.”

“We welcome everyone to join us across the weekend to learn, celebrate, and honour the spirit of community and inclusion in Manchester.”
