Duo UK, packaging manufacturer, consultant and distributor, has been awarded the highest BRCGS certification, cementing its commitment to delivering exceptional quality and safety standards in packaging.
Following an unannounced, independent audit of Duo’s Manchester facility, which produces a range of non-food-contact packaging for supermarket products and consumer goods, the business was awarded an AA+ accreditation. The BRCGS inspection covers 250 points of audit criteria and is renowned as a global industry benchmark for packaging excellence and one of the world’s leading safety and quality standards for food manufacturing.
Dale Brimelow, Operations director at Duo Packaging Group, commented: “We’re extremely proud to have been awarded the highest BRCGS AA+ accreditation. It’s a significant milestone for the company and one that demonstrates trust, reliability and the highest standards of excellence across all our sustainable packaging solutions.
“The AA+ accreditation shows that our packaging is quality assured, legally compliant and authentic. Maintaining this level all year round requires a huge amount of dedication and collaboration from our team, combined with robust processes and a desire to continually improve. We’re delighted to have finished the year on such a high.”
The BRCGS was founded in 1996 by retailers that wanted to harmonise food safety standards across the supply chain. Today, it is globally recognised across both food and non-food categories and operates the most rigorous third party certification scheme of its type. The BRCGS’ Global Standards, which set the benchmark for good manufacturing practice, cover Food Safety, Packaging Materials, Storage and Distribution, Consumer Products, Agents and Brokers, Retail, Gluten Free, Plant-Based and Ethical Trading.
