Manchester based Linten Technologies, which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, has said it is responding to a huge surge in demand for information and guidance on AI.
It warns that those failing to get up to speed with AI, will be left behind.
The company moved last year to bigger offices, has just hired two new staff members, and is actively looking to boost its technical capabilities in AI technology and tools.
Advanced Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot, and the recently revealed DeepSeek, are evolving incredibly quickly, and it can be hard to keep up or know where to go to get help.
Having already delivered several interactive sessions for clients and the wider business community on the impacts of AI, Linten says business owners must familiarise themselves with the technology.
Its new staff are both in business development and will support clients across Linten’s key market sectors – legal, manufacturing, finance, retail, healthcare, and education.
Steven Allan, CEO at Linten, commented; “AI has seemingly overnight become the single biggest issue for our clients; they want to know what it means for them, the opportunities and risks.
“AI literacy is no longer a benefit to business owners; it’s essential. More than half of hiring managers wouldn’t hire someone without AI skills, and LinkedIn users listing AI skills in their repertoire has grown by 177% since 2023. If your business isn’t taking advantage of AI, it’s already behind.
“Linten is responding by delivering in-depth courses, which have been very-well received. But demand is only increasing, and we are actively looking at how we can meet that demand – both by growing our own expertise and by developing more material to educate and inform.”
Claritas Tax is one of Linten’s professional services clients. They have invested in training and integrating AI tools across all parts of their business. Debi Osborne, Operations Director at Claritas, said: “The cost of AI can be recouped in just a couple of hours. Many simple administrative tasks, such as data entry, transcribing notes, and basic data analysis, have now been significantly sped up.”
Linten is developing expertise in Copilot, Microsoft’s flagship LLM generative AI chatbot. Copilot combines advanced AI capabilities with enterprise-grade security, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected. Unlike public AI tools, such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek, Copilot is a private solution, deeply integrated with Microsoft 365 suite.
Getting the best responses from LLMs, including ChatGPT and DeepSeek, is a key issue for users. The best practice Linten has developed includes detailed guidance on how to form and refine questions and lists of “Do’s” and “Don’ts”, which has proved very popular with participants.
Allan concluded: “We have seen a lot of new technology in our 25-year history, but AI is by far the tech that holds out the promise of being the most transformative. It impacts every area of business and could change forever interaction with customers, operations, manufacturing, sales and marketing.
“Business owners don’t need to be intimidated by AI, but they do need to get to grips with it. When understood and used correctly, it’s incredibly exciting and from what we’ve seen so far, also incredibly empowering.”
