An Oldham man has been jailed for six years after a search of his house recovered a sawn off shotgun and cartridges and large amounts of heroin and mixing agents

Emran Hussain aged 30 appeared at Manchester Crown Square Court. He pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Detective Constable Brown from our Oldham Challenger team said: “I’d like to thank the public and local community for sharing their information and concerns with us about Emran Hussain, as a result, we’ve been able to remove a potentially deadly weapon and large amounts of heroin from our streets.

“We know first hand the devastation drugs can cause in our communities, and they are often the catalyst for further crime.

“We continue to work closely with our partners and communities to obtain and act upon intelligence and we want to make it clear that if you deal drugs, you are going to get caught and you are going to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
