A man who attempted to flood the streets of Salford with drugs has been jailed
Cavan Healey 26 of Langholme Place, Eccles was sentenced to three-and-a-half years for the importation, supply and possession of Class B drugs and possessing criminal property after a joint operation between GMP and border force.
Healey was involved in the importation of drugs into the country from abroad. An early morning warrant was executed back in August 2024 at his address on Langholme Place in Eccles, Salford where a vast sum of money, of £21,600 was recovered from a car parked outside belonging to Healey alongside a large amount of cannabis in a kitchen cupboard, with an approximate street value of £22,000.
Following a thorough investigation, he was later charged and pleaded guilty to all offences.
This was after evidence uncovered by analysing his phone showed messages in chats that Healey was dealing in multi-kilograms of cannabis, importing the quantities direct from Thailand through the posts to different associate addresses.
Detective Sergeant Daniel Worthington from our Salford Challenger Unit said; “Despite his disregard and blatant operation to import drugs from abroad using the postal service, we were able to intercept and prosecute him for the offences.
“Our enquiries are ongoing around the use of this system to import drugs nationally and hopefully this sentence sends a clear message to others out there that if they are intent on committing crime and flooding the streets with drugs, we will do everything we can to bring the full force of the law to your doorstep.
