“It’s not protest.. It’s not legitimate.. It’s crime.. Violent disorder.. An assault on the rule of law.. And execution of justice”

The Prime Minister has addressed the country following the attack in Southport on Monday and the disturbances around the country

He had previously conducted a meeting with with police chiefs nationally, to mobilise a collaborative response to the incidents saying that that the government would “ensure this is met with the most robust response in the coming days and weeks”.

Sir Kier Starmer said that The community of Southport had to suffer twice..

“A gang of thugs got on trains and buses, went to a community that is not their own, grieving the most horrific tragedy and then proceeded to throw bricks at police officers”

“The same police officers who just 24 hours earlier had to deal with an attack on children in their community”

“Make no mistake, whether it’s in Southport, London or Hartlepool. These people are showing our country exactly who they are.. Mosques targeted.. Flares thrown at a statue of Winston Churchill.. A Nazi salute at the Cenotaph”

Starmer also said he wanted far-right thugs who have past convictions tackled with criminal behavior orders to further restrict their movements
