Figures out this morning show UK inflation jumped to its highest level for more than a year last month.
The rate has increased to 3.5% in April, up sharply from 2.6% in March mainly the result of higher energy and water bills
The Chancellor Rachel Reeves says she’s “disappointed” by the figures, but will go “go further and faster to put more money in people’s pockets”
