Customers across Greater Manchester and the North West are set to see their water bills rise after this morning’s announcement by United Utilities the region’s water supplier
The supplier announced that it had agreed to the regulator Ofwat’s new five-year pricing plan which will see people paying for infrastructure upgrades through a 32% bill hike over the five years.
It will mean Household bills will initially rise by an average of £86 from April.
United have promised to spend £13 billion over the 2025-30 review period to stop the pumping of waste into areas such as the Lake District and in a statement said that despite the sewage spillages it has continued to deliver a strong operating performance in its third quarter and expects to be rewarded with a higher operational bonus from Ofwat
