A Hindley man has been charged under the dangerous dogs act after a neighbourhood police officer was attack by a dog on Friday night
The officer required hospital treatment for puncture wounds to his hand following the incident in Leigh Town Centre
Lee Draper aged 46 of Cinnamon Avenue in Hindley was charged with an offence of failing to keep a dangerous dog under control and allowing it to injure a person contrary to section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
Draper has been bailed with conditions not to enter Leigh Town Centre.
He will appear at Wigan Magistrates on 14th May 2025.
