The launch of ‘Operation Ouch’ Exhibition at the Science & Industry Museum, Manchester - 18th July 2023

Dr Xand Van Tulleken, one of the presenters of hit BBC Children’s show, Operation Ouch!, will be to here to meet visitors in world-premiere exhibition, Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You. He’ll also be on a myth-busting mission to answer some of the public’s deepest questions about digestion.

Dr Xand makes up part of the show’s presenting trio, alongside Dr Chris and Dr Ronx. They’re each renowned for their ability to engage, educate and entertain young viewers by conducting outrageous experiments, and together have provided unique inspiration for the exhibition, with Xand offering up his insides for people wanting to know more about how the human body works (it’s a super-sized version of his digestive system that visitors journey though!).

Visitors who book tickets to Operation Ouch, Food Poo and You between 13.30 – 15.30 on Sunday 11 February will have the opportunity to grab a selfie with Xand from inside the exhibition. After voyaging through his digestive system, their experience will be topped off as they drop in for a photo with the man himself.

From 13.00 – 13.20 and again at 16.30 – 16.50 on Sunday 11 February, all visitors in the museum will have the opportunity to see Xand in action as he takes to the stage in the Revolution Manchester Gallery to answer some of our visitors’ most probing poo-related queries during a live Q&A.

Tickets to visit the museum and exhibition on Sunday 11 February are available to book now online at https://www.scienceandindustrymuseum.org.uk/whats-on/meet-dr-xand.

Please note that a free standard museum entry ticket will give you access to the Q&As with Xand, but an exhibition ticket must be purchased for specific times for the photo opportunity. These are limited so booking as soon as possible is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
