Capital&Centric has unveiled the latest indie business to join the Farnworth Green community.
Cotton, the indie café brand known for its top-notch coffee and baked goods is to open its doors to a brand-new café as well as a dedicated bakery to supply its growing business.
Taking a spot in the heart of the new neighbourhood, Cotton’s bakery will produce fresh bread and baked treats daily, not just for its Farnworth café but for its wider network.
The design of the new space is set to have the same laid back vibe as its other locations in Manchester, with an opening date to be confirmed. The café will offer a welcoming space to grab a coffee, fresh pastries, or a bite to eat, while the bakery will be the engine behind Cotton’s signature sourdough, cakes, and other handmade treats.
Beyond serving up great food, Cotton is also working with Bolton Council to launch an apprenticeship scheme, offering young locals their first step into hospitality and a baking career.
The news coincides with the launch of the last phase of 20 apartments to be released, with all of the other 80 homes snapped up within days as people queued around the block to get their hands on a cool home to rent.
Chris Griffith, founder of Cotton, said:
“We’ve been on an amazing journey growing Cotton, and we’re incredibly grateful for the loyal following we’ve cultivated. Now, Farnworth Green feels like the perfect next step. This isn’t just about opening another café; it’s about investing in a community.
“The bakery is a big move for us too, allowing us to craft everything from scratch and supply all our locations with freshly made goods. We’re also buzzing to team up with Bolton Council to offer apprenticeships, helping young people take their first step into the industry.”
