The former boss of Manchester-based web hosting provider UKFast Lawrence Jones has been stripped of his CBE following his conviction for two rapes and sexual assault
The Tech Tycoon was jailed for 15 years last year
Jones lost his award along with five others, according to the official announcement in the London Gazette.
The official statement said: “The King has directed that the appointment of Lawrence Nigel Jones to be a Member of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 31 December 2014, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the register of the said order.”
Jones was convicted of sexual assault on 31 January 2023. He touched a woman’s inner thigh whilst on a business trip and used sexually explicit language which made her feel uncomfortable, so much so that she locked herself in a room.
