On Thursday 23rd June, Embankment Kitchen will be launching a fresh new summer menu featuring an exciting range of fresh and vibrant dishes.

Situated on the ground floor of Manchester’s premium luxury aparthotel, CitySuites, Embankment Kitchen is a sophisticated and stylish bar and brasserie headed up by Master Chef: The Professionals finalist Marika Healey.

Ahead of the summer months, Healey has curated a delightful fusion menu of authentic Italian cuisine with a modern British twist and a touch of east Asian flavours. Highlights from the new menu include the crispy house dusted squid, chorizo, crispy kale, turmeric and chorizo aioli starter and a strawberry, champagne jelly amaretto and white chocolate tiramisu topped with meringue.

While seasonality is central to Embankment Kitchen’s exciting new menu, there has been no compromise on taste or style. “As usual with our food, pairing the flavour with the colours on the plate is so important, but for the summer menu this is especially true,” said Marika Healey, Head Chef. “On this menu, we’ve gone for lots of bright colours for summer with a big focus on seasonal vegetables like asparagus, peas, broccoli, summer squash, and courgette.”

“With all these fresh veggies in mind, my top recommendation is our roast pepper, courgette cherry tomato and red onion and mozzarella tart, a main dish served with basil mascarpone, red pepper coulis, watercress, and rocket. This dish is a total celebration of colour and a celebration of what’s in season,” she added.

Also new to Embankment Kitchen is a unique wine-based cocktail menu. Taking inspiration from each individual vineyard, Embankment Kitchen’s new cocktails are elegantly crafted to celebrate the distinctive notes of the expertly selected wines. Starting with a crisp and refreshing white wine, ‘Bordeaux in Bloom’ features Picpoul de Pinet mixed with Olmeca Silver tequila, Triple sec, lime and elderflower, a lovely bright and floral drink.

Staying in Europe, ‘Vineyards of Verona’ features a beautiful Pinot Grigio Blush, served with Brockmans Gin, raspberry and lemon transporting you to the dreamy sunny skies of Northern Italy. Moving down under, ‘In the Outback’ shows off a full-bodied Shiraz, mixed with Ophir Gin, lemon, and ginger ale, giving this cocktail a deeply warm and delightfully spiced flavour.

Also launching on Thursday 23rd June is Embankment Kitchen’s new Thursday sharing deal – the Thursday Social. Guests dining on Thursdays can enjoy a masterfully curated sharing platter featuring a variety of delights from the new summer menu and a perfectly selected bottle of wine for just £29.95 per person.

Embankment Kitchen is located on the ground floor of CitySuites aparthotel and open in the evenings from Thursday to Saturday, and afternoons on Sundays.
