The UK economy shrank for the second month in a row in October after official figures showed a 0.1% drop.

Figures released this morning by the ONS showed Services with no growth, while Production (-0.6%) and construction (-0.4%) both fell.

The Government has pledged to have the fastest growing economy in the G7 by the end of this parliament

The Shadow chancellor Mel Stride told Sky News that the latest economic figures are “stark”

“Businesses right up and down the country are sounding the alarm”.
