Eat Well MCR, the Manchester restaurant and hospitality collective, is proud to announce “Eat Well, Do Good” Festival a week-long series of events and fundraising activities to celebrate the extraordinary generosity and talents of the city’s hospitality community.

Running from the 21st to the 27th of October, the festival aims to raise vital funds to support Eat Well MCR’s ongoing efforts to provide meals to those in need. As part of its fundraising efforts, the collective is encouraging hospitality venues across  Greater Manchester to get involved.

According to the leading charity Shelter, there are over 7,000 homeless children in Greater Manchester. Eat Well MCR delivers meals to hotels housing some of these children and families, as well as to women taking refuge in sheltered accommodation, parents of children staying in hospitals, food banks, and schools supporting young people and families affected by food poverty.

Eat Well MCR works to tackle the growing crisis by delivering roughly 2,500 meals per month to individuals facing economic deprivation. By supporting Eat Well MCR, venues and patrons can positively impact the community. With just £2, a meal can be provided for someone in need, and the collective efforts during this week-long festival have the potential to raise funds to show people sidelined by poverty in our community that Manchester cares.

The festival will feature a variety of activities and events across Greater Manchester. Eat Well MCR encourages all hospitality venues to participate in fundraising activities, contributing in whichever way they find the most suitable. Join Ramona, Maray, 10 Tib Lane, Chorlton Cheesemongers, chef Caroline Martins, and many others to be announced to support the incredible work of the Manchester-based collective.

This initiative strives to unite chefs, restaurants, and volunteers in delivering meals, sourcing ingredients, and raising awareness and funds to support underprivileged communities in  Manchester.

Will Taplin, Executive Chef for Ramona, Firehouse and Diecast expresses excitement to be involved “We’re really excited to be part of this fundraising campaign. We’ll have extra special slices at Ramona and full pie at Diecast on sale throughout October, with a built-in donation from every pizza sold going to Eat Well MCR.”

The celebration will highlight the community’s achievements and invite participation through various means. Hospitality vendors can get involved by offering a special dish or drink where a portion of the proceeds are donated to Eat Well MCR, or by adding a £1 donation to every bill. Other ways to contribute include organising team fundraising activities or hosting ticketed events where proceeds support the cause.

A party at Ramona on the 27th October will conclude the week of fundraising, all  proceeds from the evening will be donated to Eat Well MCR. The event will feature DJs from Stells Selections and will unite hospitality operators, the general public, and members of the community who benefit from Eat Well MCR’s services.

Eat Well MCR is looking for venues across Greater Manchester to join this meaningful initiative. Those interested can sign up via the Eat Well, Do Good Week Sign-Up Page and view a video containing compelling facts about the impact of poverty in Manchester by following this link..
