Thirty bags of donated football kits from the Manchester City training ground kicked off the busiest day of trading at the British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop in Hyde’s 21 year history.

The shop was filled with shirts, fleeces, jackets, shorts, football boots, rucksacks, designer clothing, and kit for international games, all collected from the training grounds in the Etihad campus.

Following a post on social media, savvy shoppers queued up before the shop opened to get their hands on the Sky Blues’ merchandise. After an exciting couple of days, the kits sold out and the shop raised an incredible £1,750.

Emma Thatcher, BHF Hyde shop manager, said: “Our ongoing relationship with Man City has been fab for our shop. We collect new stock from the training ground every couple of months, so keep your eyes peeled for exciting football finds!

“The BHF Hyde shop has become known for its football finds, but there are lots of other preloved treasures hiding among the rails, feel free to pop by and see what you can find. And if you’re having a clear out why not drop off an item or two?”
