A Victorian Stockport pub with its own dedicated wedding and private functions venue is hosting its first wedding fayre and showcase event of 2025 in January.
The pub’s Bluebell Suite is proving popular with couples looking to tie the knot and save thousands of pounds on their wedding bill at the same time.
The venue hosts around 15 functions each month including an average of five weddings. This year alone, over 50 wedding ceremonies and parties successfully took place.
The first wedding fayre of 2025 is scheduled for Sunday 5th January, to be followed on 12th January by a wedding showcase event where the venue is spectacularly dressed as if hosting a real wedding. The event is designed to help couples fully visualise their perfect day.
The Bluebell opened in 2008 and is fully licensed to host wedding ceremonies. On the first floor mezzanine level, the Hayloft can accommodate civil services for up to 80 guests. The Bluebell suite can comfortably seat 90 guests for wedding breakfasts and 120 for evening receptions, has its own entrance and bar and kitchen, private patio and garden, free parking and an additional outside bar.
Dedicated wedding co-ordinator Alice Frodsham is based at The Joshua Bradley and has over five years of experience ensuring couples have the perfect day. With over a decade spent working in hospitality, Alice is well-placed to inspire guests and works closely with them to create the day of their dreams.
Lottie Rossington, general manager of the Joshua Bradley and Bluebell suite, commented: “Our wedding fayre invites couples to explore a variety of handpicked vendors showcasing the latest in bridal fashion, exquisite floral arrangements, stunning décor, and more.
“Whether you’re just starting your wedding planning journey or looking for those final touches, you’ll find inspiration at every turn. Couples can enjoy exclusive offers, receive expert advice, and have the chance to see their vision come to life in the beautiful setting of the Bluebell Suite.”
Hydes brewery, owners of the Joshua Bradley and Bluebell suite since 2008, estimates that couples choosing the venue can save themselves as much as up to three times the cost of an average wedding. The average cost of a UK wedding is £24k with the venue cost alone being the biggest expense.
Wedding co-ordinator Alice Frodsham added: “We can offer everything a couple needs for the perfect wedding day. We can guarantee every bride and groom a fantastic day to remember without compromising on quality, space, privacy or surroundings. We have the flexibility to tailor a fully comprehensive package to suit almost every requirement, providing an intimate and highly personalised service, designed to help couples maximise their budget. Our imminent wedding fayre successfully brings all this to life.”
The first ten couples to visit the wedding fayre receive a wedding themed goody bag containing a free bottle of Prosecco, samples and lots of useful information.
