Trafford Residents are being charged to have their garden waste collected from the week beginning 1 June as part of Trafford Council’s budget plans

The council says the move was inevitable to maintain essential services for vulnerable adults, children and families.

The charge is £45 for the year if paying online or £50 if paying over the phone

Grey bins in Trafford are now being tagged to make sure residents are aware of changes to their garden waste collection. The tags are being put on the bins from Monday 21 April over a four-week period.

Residents have until 16 May to pay for the garden waste subscription if they want their permit in time for 1 June.

They can still pay afterwards but the collection will only take place after the permit has been displayed on the bin.

After 1 June, only green bins with a valid permit on them will have garden waste collected.
