Local nurse Belle McNeill, who runs ‘A Little Often, Mcr’, has collected more than 750 Easter eggs as part of her charity campaign for young carers in Stockport.

Signpost for Carers is an independent local charity supporting carers in Stockport from the age of 6 upwards.

They provide free, confidential information and a range of services, including counselling, benefits help, emotional support, practical advice, ‘signposting’ to other organisations, social opportunities and access to their Connecting Carers Card.

For younger carers, they provide respite via age-appropriate social activities, family support, school liaison and opportunities to enjoy being a child or young person away from their caring responsibilities.

And what better way to celebrate after a very tough pandemic year than with the gift of hundreds of Easter Eggs from the Manchester nurse.

Over the last four months, Belle McNeill has personally collected over 1,500 items for her charities, with more than 750 Easter eggs headed to Stockport.

Belle McNeill, founder of A Little Often, Mcr, said:

“A Little Often, Mcr began with a collection of items from friends and family to donate to a local charity, but once I posted it on my social media, so many people contacted me about it.

“They wanted to do more for charities but didn’t know how, who, what or where to donate. My plea for specific items made it easier for them to add an extra thing or two in their weekly shop and pass on to me.

“I have always enjoyed charity work and have done various fundraising since I was a young child knocking on doors offering car washing services.

“I really believe that doing a little, often, can have a big impact.”

Next month Belle is collecting all forms of hygiene products for The Hygiene bank Manchester.
