A huge Captain Marvel mural has appeared in the centre of Manchester

The unique ‘double exposure’ mural by artist Insane51 in Manchester’s Corn Exchange, is in celebration of new Marvel seriesDaredevil: Born Again.

Reflective of the titular character in the series being blind, the mural was designed in collaboration with Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), meaning that beyond sight, the mural can be experienced and accessed in different ways – including a tactile print of the artwork to feel, a braille transcription of the signage and a NaviLens audio description

Daredevil: Born Again” sees the return of Matt Murdock to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, New York, facing his familiar adversary, Wilson Fisk, as the two find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

Insane51 spoke on his latest work saying, “As a huge fan of Daredevil, working on this mural was an incredible experience for me. I still remember seeing Daredevil on my screen for the first time when I was 10, and now, getting to bring my own artistic vision to this character feels surreal.

It’s amazing to see how my art style connects with the show’s themes, and I love that people will be able to engage with this piece not just visually, but also on a tactile and auditory level.

Bringing this new interactive element into my work was something I hadn’t done before, and that made the whole process even more exciting.”
