Capital&Centric has announced that independent coffee shop and eatery, The Coffee House will throw open its doors to residents and Farnworth locals at the end of January.
Farnworth Green is a new development set to transform the town’s outdated former market precinct, which has been completely revamped by the developer. The new town centre neighbourhood will ultimately feature a mix of 97 apartments and family homes, retailers, café-bars and new green outdoor hangout spaces.
The Coffee House is the first business to set up shop at Farnworth Green, and the second in Bolton for the family-run company. The packed-out Bolton store has quickly developed a reputation for serving the best coffee in town and the Coffee House is planning more of the same for Farnworth. This, along with their flavour-packed freshly handmade sandwiches and snacks in store daily, will mean that queues will no doubt be around the block in no time as they continue to grow their presence in the local community.
Tom Wilmot, joint managing director of Capital&Centric, said:
“A coffee shop sits at the centre of any community, so it’s great to have Coffee House opened so quickly. It will start to create a buzz in this emerging community with its amazing coffee and pastries, giving residents the fuel they need to take on the day.
“It’s an exciting time for Farnworth, we’re just about to launch the zero carbon homes for rent and we’ve had tons of interest in the new business spaces we’ve created, so it won’t be long until there’s more independent eateries, bars and shops here.”
Chris Shelmerdine, managing director at The Coffee House, said:
“We are thrilled to grow our presence in the Bolton community with our second store. Our original Bolton location, open for two years now, has been embraced by locals, and we’re excited to build on that success. Each of our stores features unique touches that reflect the history and personality of its neighbourhood. Farnworth will be no exception, with thoughtful design elements that celebrate the area’s heritage.”
Farnworth Green will feature 85 one and two bed apartments and 12 family homes, all for rent. The family homes will be the first homes delivered under Capital&Centric’s ‘Neighbourhood’ brand. Several of the townhouses are being built to be operationally net zero, slashing energy bills for their residents, and the first of their kind in Bolton.
Farnworth Green is intended to set a new blueprint for repurposing town centres previously dominated by retail, with plans to roll out the Neighbourhood approach to suburban communities at other brownfield sites across Greater Manchester and beyond.
