Omniplex Cinemas, one of the UK and Ireland’s  largest cinema chains, will introduce the Wigan community to its most ambitious luxury cinema  concept to date, opening Omniplex Wigan at Robin Park.

Investing a staggering £3.5 million to create its most elevated cinema experience yet, Omniplex  has pulled out all of the stops, transforming the lobby into a lavish lounge, with comfortable seating  and revamped interiors turning the area into the perfect place for a pre or post-movie meet-up  with friends.

Dialling up the food and drinks options, Joe’s Food Truck has been installed in the lobby, with  the 23-foot-long, classic airstream trailer serving mouth-watering items like giant 24-inch pizzas,  chicken tenders, grilled sandwiches and much more.

For those in search of a tasty tipple, an inviting Beer & Cocktail Van will provide thirsty film fans  with a selection of beers, cocktails, wine and soft drinks.

Customer comfort is paramount to the cinema chain and taking convenience to the next level,  Omniplex has announced it will launch the Service to Seat order system, where moviegoers can  scan a QR code and have food and beverages delivered directly to their seat, in the coming  weeks.

With A Quiet Place: Day One, The Bikeriders, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Despicable Me 4 showing this July, film fans in Wigan will enjoy cinematic adventures in ultimate comfort in the  new 11-screen multiplex cinema decked out with fully electric Recline seating throughout and  luxurious sofa beds in select screens.

Best of all, Wigan residents can look forward to the ultimate viewing experience with the cinema  launching with a brand new OmniplexMAXX screen. OmniplexMAXX is the cinema chain’s  Premium Large Format which immerses the viewer through three key senses: sight, sound and  feel. Each OmniplexMAXX screen incorporates luxury Recline seating, with an extra-large screen  and a Dolby Atmos 3D sound system delivering the ultimate cinematic adventure.

Speaking about the launch, Paul John Anderson, Director of the Omniplex Cinema Group said: “Omniplex Wigan is our most ambitious project to date, we have worked with the best interior  designers, suppliers and contractors to create a unique and elevated cinema experience. Our  significant investment has completely transformed the cinema, with a lavish lounge, exciting new  food and drinks trucks and our cutting-edge OmniplexMAXX screen all contributing towards an  unforgettable atmosphere for film fans in the area.”

The acquisition and relaunch of the former Empire Cinema in Wigan, a deal advised upon by  commercial agents Avison Young, follows Omniplex Cinema Group’s announcement last year of  a £22.5 million investment over 18 months to acquire and refurbish Empire Cinema locations  across Great Britain.

Omniplex Cinemas are renowned for their state-of-the-art projection and digital sound facilities,  as well as diverse programming, which includes sporting events, musicals, concerts, and ballet in  addition to the latest cinema releases.

Omniplex Wigan opens on 4 July 2024. Tickets for upcoming releases will be available soon at  www.omniplexcinemas.co.uk/cinema/wigan or in-cinema.
