The University of Salford Art Collection announces its latest exhibition, Between the Earth and the Sky.

Running from Tuesday 28th January to Friday 25th July 2025 at the New Adelphi Exhibition Gallery, this showcase brings together contemporary printmaking, photography, and video artworks reflecting nature’s transitional and transformative moments.

Featuring a new acquisition from the Contemporary Art Society’s acquisition scheme through Cristea Roberts Gallery, Between the Earth and the Sky highlights works by celebrated contemporary artists such as Christiane Baumgartner, Darren Almond, Jessica El Mal, and Liang Yue. The exhibition invites visitors to consider themes of light, tides, mist, reflections, and natural rhythms—through artworks that capture in-between moments in nature: the final rays of sunset, the first droplets of rain after a drought, and the ebb and flow of coastal tides.

“This exhibition invites visitors to pause and reflect on the often-overlooked moments that connect us to the natural world,” says Stephanie Fletcher, Assistant Curator at the University of Salford Art Collection.

“Through the work of Christiane Baumgartner, Darren Almond, Jessica El Mal, and Liang Yue and others, we explore the beauty of these transitions and their emotional resonance and universal significance.”
