The BBC ,under fire of its handling of allegations that an unnamed BBC star paid thousands of pounds to a teenager for sexually explicit photos will be meeting with the police today as the scandal grows ever wider
Yesterday it announced that the individual surrounding the allegations had been suspended
In a statement on Sunday evening, Scotland Yard said: “The Met has received initial contact from the BBC in relation to this matter, but no formal referral or allegation has been made. We will require additional information before determining what further action should follow.”.
The well-known presenter is accused of handing over more than £35,000 to the alleged victim since they were 17
The story broke in Saturday’s Sun newspaper which this morning claimed The presenter allegedly rang his victim last week asking: “What have you done?”
Earlier the BBC said it treated any allegations “very seriously” and had “processes in place to proactively deal with them.” It added: “As part of that, if we receive information that requires further investigation or examination we will take steps to do this.”
