The anti grooming campaigner Billy Howarth who stood against George Galloway in the recent Rochdale by election has joined his former foe and will be standing as a candidate for his Worker’s Party in next month’s local elections
He will be standing in the ward of Balderstone and Kirkholt against current councillor Daniel Meredith the Rochdale cabinet’s portfolio holder for regeneration and housing.
Announcing the news on X Galloway said
“Delighted to announce that my by-election opponent Billy Howarth of Parents against Grooming, indefatigable campaigner for young people in #Rochdale will stand for @WorkersPartyGB in the elections to @RochdaleCouncil I am a man who keeps his promises. Welcome aboard Billy – we will do great things together.”
