care home in Sale pulled out all the stops to celebrate its fifth anniversary in style.
Care UK’s Oakfield Croft, on Oakfield, hosted a special birthday bash to remember – five years after welcoming its very first residents.
Residents, relatives and friends of the home enjoyed dancing and singing along to live music, while sipping a glass of prosecco to mark the occasion. A huge celebratory cake was also prepared by the home’s head chef for everyone to indulge in.
During the celebration, resident Ann Orton shared her heartfelt appreciation for life at Oakfield Croft.
She said: “My favourite thing about living here is the wonderful staff. Every single one of them – from management to carers, housekeeping, and kitchen – has played a part in helping me regain my strength and confidence during a difficult time.
“I’m a completely different person now from when I first arrived, and I’m so grateful for that.”
Ann said the highlight of her day was sitting in the garden with cake and prosecco, basking in the sunshine, and singing along to her favourite songs performed by entertainer Collette Todd.
She also took pride in seeing long-standing team members recognised for their dedication since the home first opened its doors.
She added: “It’s a true testament to just how special this place is!”
Daniel Cole, Home Manager at Oakfield Croft, said: “It was wonderful to see residents singing and dancing to toast our special fifth birthday milestone.
“The whole team worked hard to organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who makes Oakfield Croft an amazing place to call home, and for helping to make the day extra special.
“It’s been a busy five years. We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations and worked hard to create a homely environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Oakfield Croft.
“We’re excited to see what’s in store for the next five years and beyond!”
