An 85 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident in Harpurhey yesterday morning after a 51-year-old woman was found deceased in the property in Harpurhey
A scene is in place at the property on Queens Road whilst investigators conduct their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Emma Hulston, of our Major Incident Team, said: “The thoughts of the entire investigation team remain with the victim’s family at this time. We are committed to getting answers for them and establishing what occurred.
“We understand this investigation will raise concerns in the local community, but I would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.
“Officers will be conducting their enquiries at the address so you will see more officers out in the local area. We have a number of additional resources dedicated to this investigation.”
