A 45 year old man has been arrested after a sexual assault in an Oldham Park on Monday
He has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in custody for questioning after the assault in Alexandra Park
Detective Inspector Kevin Johnston said: “I want local residents to know that we take all reports of sexual assaults incredibly seriously and I hope this quick arrest demonstrates our commitment to protecting the local community and taking action.
“The park will have extra officers in the area for the coming days and members of the public should use the area as they normally would. There is no wider risk and those officers are simply there to provide assistance should you have any queries or concerns. They will be more than happy to assist you wherever they can.
