Police have arrested a 25 year old man after three shots were fired at a house on Jane Street in Weaste over the weekend

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Justin Bryant of GMP’s Salford crime investigation department, said:

“Whilst our investigation is in the early stages, I hope this arrest shows the community that we are taking swift action to protect them, and tackle firearms enabled criminality.

“I would like to thank those who have already come forward and shared information with us, and I would urge anyone who has not yet spoken to us directly, please get in touch. Please don’t assume what you know is already known to us. The smallest piece of information, CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage could be crucial to our investigation.

“We are continuing our appeal to anyone who may have seen a white SUV type vehicle in the area over the last few days, which perhaps seemed out of place. At this stage, we believe this vehicle to be crucial to our investigation.

“Additional officers remain in the area, they are there to support you, and I would urge you to speak to them if you haven’t already.
