A 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to 12 years in jail for attempted murder in Levenshulme in February this year
The suspect who was 15 at the time of the offence, stabbed a 14-year-old victim on his doorstep on Stovell Avenue
The victim then spent two weeks in hospital and suffered life changing injuries as a result.
It is believed the 14-year-old victim was not the intended victim of the attack as the suspect believed he had a grievance with another male who was also at that address.
Detective Constable James Carter from our North Manchester district said: “The victim is extremely fortunate to have survived this brutal attack, although he will carry the injuries for the rest of his life.
“It was a senseless attack and highlights the devastating impact of knife crime. Carrying a knife can only lead to injury, death and imprisonment – there are no positive outcomes. If you or someone you know is carrying a knife, I urge you to speak out and seek help before it is too late.”
