Ryan T Williams is a multi-million-pound exited founder of KOMI Group, credited as being LadBible and Social Chain’s biggest rival. But when he applied to go on the popular Channel 5 show Rich House Poor House, the Oldham-based entrepreneur was shocked to discover that his home was considered too small.

He is the creator behind huge pages on social media such as It’s Gone Viral. He also created parody accounts such as Deluded Brendan, Slow Sports News, Tired Sterling, Cheers Geoff, Dirty Footballer, Faded Footballers, Finished Players, Football Fights, Footy Fan Chants and many more.

Ryan’s route to career success wasn’t conventional. Born in Oldham, 35 year old Ryan achieved average grades at school and had originally set out on a career in IT. He never had grand aspirations to start a business and grow it from a team of three to over eighty people, earning millions of pounds. But that’s exactly what he did and it all started with a tweet.

During the long night feeds, with his then newborn daughter, Ryan created the now infamous page Slow Sports News, a satirical account posting about old sports news. When the page garnered over 50,000 followers at a rapid pace, Ryan opened up another account Deluded Brendan, a parody account dedicated to the many iconic moments throughout the career of football manager Brendan Rogers which won awards and followers of over 300,000. Having seen other companies such as LadBible making huge sums of money from their popular social media accounts, Ryan decided it was time to team up with two others in the industry and pursue a career built from his flair for building parody and satirical accounts.

In 2016, with the support of his wife Jenna, Ryan quit his day job and from there, Ryan and his co-founders started seeing real success. The company was earning an astounding £400 per video on Facebook alone leading to KOMI Group being founded in 2020. Some of Ryan and his co-founder’s biggest successes include It’s Gone Viral, which now boasts over 18 million followers across socials and is LadBible’s biggest competitor alongside the agency itself which became a big competitor to Social Chain.

They developed many popular social media pages across a variety of genres, which led to a turnover of £60k a month at their peak and allowed them to move into their Ancoats office with a team of 88 employees by 2022.

That same year, Ryan made the decision to exit the company to spend more time with his family. He cashed out with a multiple seven-figure deal, allowing him to come full circle with his journey which started as a Twitter account that allowed him to get through the long nights with a newborn and changed their lives for the better.

When it came to his application for Rich House Poor House, whilst on paper he fit their criteria, Ryan and his wife Jenna were shocked to discover they didn’t fit the criteria for the house size.
