Withington firefighters were treated to a MAN-icure at a Didsbury nail bar to help raise awareness of the biggest killer of men under 45 – suicide.
Members of Blue Watch at Withington Fire Station took some time out to have their nails done at the Nail Dresser in Didsbury alongside Firefighter Jonny Ward, who raises awareness of blue-light mental health issues on Twitter with his account The Anxious Fireman.

The MAN-icure event was organised by The Nail Dresser and Manchester Mind with the aim the raising awareness for their #itsokaytotalk campaign against male suicide.

Jonny said: “It was a fantastic event and raised awareness of something which is close to my heart having lost two friends to suicide.

“It’s not every day you see a bunch of firefighters getting their nails done and I for one can say that my nails still look fabulous a couple of days after the event!”
