Veterans’ charity Walking With The Wounded has teamed up with personalised clothing business Clothes2order.com to launch a t-shirt fundraising campaign.

Clothes2order.com, which is based in Trafford Park, set up www.charityshirts.co.uk following the Manchester Arena terror attack in May 2017 to raise money for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

The sale proceeds of a specially-designed t-shirt went to support families affected by the atrocity.

Since then, www.charityshirts.co.uk has generated thousands of pounds for other causes and Walking With The Wounded is the latest organisation to get on board.

The charity, which helps vulnerable veterans to integrate back into society with a focus on employment and independence, has launched a t-shirt promoting its Walking Home For Christmas campaign.

Walking Home For Christmas encourages people to organise their own walk in their local communities, to raise awareness and funds in support of ex-servicemen and women going through hardship during the festive period.

All proceeds excluding VAT and delivery costs will be donated from the first 100
t-shirts sold. Thereafter, all profits will be donated. The campaign runs until November 30.

The shirts are £9.99 and are available in sizes ranging from small to 2XL (50-52in chest).

Joel Oxberry, corporate sponsorship and development manager at Walking With The Wounded, who is based at the charity’s Manchester hub, said: “We’re extremely grateful that Clothes2order.com has chosen to support us through this charity campaign.

“Walking Home For Christmas can involve something as simple as getting off the tram, bus or train one stop earlier, all the way to planning a more challenging trek or taking in some local attractions.

“It will raise awareness of Walking With The Wounded and the need for greater support for our ex-service personnel, as well as raising much-needed funds for us to continue helping thousands of veterans who are suffering from visible and invisible injuries as a result of their time in the armed forces.”

Sam Jones, managing director of Clothes2order.com, said: “With the armistice centenary just being marked this past weekend, we are extremely proud to be supporting our veterans by helping Walking With The Wounded to raise funds for its Christmas campaign.

“Having set up Charity Shirts initially to help our community in Manchester, we are very proud to be able to continue assisting charities across the UK through t-shirt sales to their supporters.”
