Police investigating a shooting in Harpurhey last summer in which a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg and torso have released CCTV footage.

The shooting happened on the 7th at a takeaway on Rochdale Road at around 11.20pm.

Five men aged 27, 22, 20, 26 and 20 were arrested in connection with the incident and have been re-bailed until Wednesday 1 March 2017.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Rick Mortimer from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This is a lengthy investigation and we are making sure that we are exploring all lines of enquiry.

“Fortunately, the victim has made a full recovery but we still need to bring those responsible to justice and can only do so with the public’s assistance.

“I’m urging anyone who recognises the man in the image to contact my team.

“Your information will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence but I need your help to get guns off the streets of Greater Manchester.”
