Hailo, the smartphone service which allows you to book and pay for a cab with two taps has arrived in Manchester.

The new service brings taxis to the user and allows them to see all the nearby taxis around using a smartphone, whilst allow him or her to watch the taxi arrive live on a map.

The service is being promoted as being easy and safe as passengers see a picture of their driver and their vehicle. Payment is automatic and by credit or debit card and receipts are emailed instantly.

Caspar Woolley, Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Hailo, comments, “We’ve always wanted to bring Hailo to Manchester. This buzzing city with its thriving business and entertainment hubs was a natural next step for Hailo. For passengers with busy lives, it means no more standing about in the rain trying to hail a cab, and no more late night stops at cash machines.”

Bob Azam, one of Hailo’s driver partners and a Manchester cabbie for 10 years, adds, “I love that Hailo was founded by taxi drivers, for taxi drivers. Not only does it help us stay occupied more often, but passengers love the convenience of hailing by smartphone and having taxis drive to wherever they are.”

Hailo is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Simply search “Hailo”.
