Salford City have signed strikers Rory Gaffney from League One Bristol Rovers and Devante Rodney from Hartlepool United.

Gaffney joins for an undisclosed fee on a 3-year deal and Devante on an undisclosed two-year deal

Born in Tuam, Ireland Rory Gaffney started his career with Mervue United and Limerick City. After 7 years in the League of Ireland he moved to League Two outfit Cambridge United in November 2014.

Rory scored twice on his first start for the U’s but injury blighted his first season in the English game. Following a spell on loan he signed permanenty for Bristol Rovers early in 2016. A regular for Rovers during their first season back in League One he had less game time during 2017-2018 yet still managed to notch 5 goals in 10 appearances.

Devante Rodney spent 6 years with Manchester City’s academy before moving to Sheffield Wednesday. He left Hillsborough without making a first-team appearance, signing for Hartlepool United in 2016. The Manchester born front-man scored twice on the final day of a difficult season for his new club but it wasn’t enough to avoid relegation to the National League. By the end of last season Devante had clocked up 49 appearances for Pools, scoring 5 time
