Two men have been jailed for viciously attacking a man in his own home in Stockport last summer.
Ryan Patton,21, of Wiltshire Avenue, Brinnington pleaded guilty to burglary, robbery, false imprisonment, and assault and was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison.

Kyle Bond, 19, of Leamington Court, North Reddish, pleaded guilty to theft, possession of a class B drug and aggravated vehicle taking and was sentenced to five and a half years in prison.

The court heard that on the evening of Friday 1 July last year,  the 25-year-old victim was outside McColls on Mersey Square in Stockport, when he was approached by Patton and Bond.

Patton robbed the victim of £20 and Bond threatened him, before both fled. Later that evening the victim saw Patton and Bond again, near to the bus station in Stockport.

The victim asked them for his money back but the pair again threatened him and insisted that they go back to the victim’s flat. Patton and Bond drove the victim there and, once inside, Patton became aggressive and pulled out a knife. Bond then then tied him to a radiator and Patton threatened and attacked the victim numerous times. They then ransacked his house and stole his car.

Shortly afterwards the car collided with parked cars on Mayorlow Avenue, Brinnington and Patton and Bond were arrested.

A number of hours later, the victim managed to escape from his house and went to hospital.

Detective Constable Jane Dodd of GMP’s Stockport Borough, said: “This victim was subjected to a horrific and prolonged attack in his own home, which is somewhere he should feel safe.

“The level of violence used was abhorrent and both men are now behind bars for their actions.”
