The family of a man who was murdered in Altrincham Town Centre has paid tribute to him on the day that two men have been charged after a man was murdered in Altrincham.

26 year old Aiden Oakes of Peveril Road, Altrincham and 22 year old Anton Oakes of Lee Avenue, Broadheath have both been charged with murder and section 18 assault against another man and appeared before magistrates this morning.

They have been remanded to custody and are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on the 29th December.

32-year-old Christopher Thompson from Stockport, was found with serious head injuries following a fight outside a lap dancing club on the Causeway.

Paying tribute to him, Chris’ family, said: “Chris was a larger than life character who lit up a room when he walked into it.

“He was fun to be around and was genuinely one in a million.Chris was a son, husband, daddy, brother and uncle and there are no words adequate enough to express how much he loves and was loved in return by his family and friends.

“Chris lived for his family and worked hard to provide for his wife and baby son and was never happier than when he was spending time with them.

“Chris’ death, under such tragic circumstances, has had a devastating effect on all who knew him and he will leave a void that can never be filled.”

Chris’ family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for all the kind words and thoughts given at this sad time. They said the support has been overwhelming and gives credit to how loved Chris was.
