The Grade II listed Trafford Town Hall is opening its doors this Sunday 13 September to couples looking to tie the knot.From October 2015, the Town Hall will be available for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies as well as intimate post-ceremony receptions.
Couples will be able to see the ornate oak panelled civic suite set up for the ceremony at the open day and have the opportunity to discuss options with the Superintendent Registrar.  
Not only this, couples will be able to view the private Courtyard garden which is available for photographs or a drinks reception as well as the ornate Sunken Garden and feature Imperial staircase with stained glass window backdrop.

This is the first time the Council has opened the doors to the Town Hall for ceremonies therefore this is a unique opportunity to preview and book a brand new venue. To celebrate the launch of weddings at the town hall, there will be a prize draw on the day to win room hire and registrar services (terms and conditions apply) at a forthcoming date in the next 12-months.
Visitors on the day will also have the opportunity to get a ‘behind the scenes’ peek into town hall life and learn about the building’s architectural heritage as part of national Heritage Open Days.

It won’t just be a look back into history either, visitors will have the chance to see for themselves the innovative way the historic parts of the building have been seamlessly woven together with the modern, dynamic, state of the art new extension, creating a 21st century seat of local democracy.
Throughout the day there will be family friendly activities, including a bouncy castle, story times for under-fives and children’s trail. Staff will be on hand to help you find out more about council services including fostering, allotments and recycling. There will also be representatives from the emergency services, together with information stands on local life and community activities.
