Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in Salford.
At around 7.45pm on Friday 10 June 2016, police were called to Hope Street at the junction with Great Clowes Street, Lower Broughton to reports of two men fighting.

When they attended the scene, officers discovered a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.

He was taken to Salford Royal, where he sadly died a short time later.

Three men, aged 26, 26 and 49, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody for questioning.

Update

A fourth man, aged 28, has also been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

The investigation is on-going.

Detective Chief Inspector Terry Crompton said: “This was a brutal attack which occurred on the street in broad daylight and has taken a young man’s life.

“We understand there was an altercation which then led to this young man being stabbed, what we need to know is who was involved and exactly what happened.

“Due to the incident’s location it is likely that some people will have seen what occurred, and I urge those people to come forward and assist us with this investigation.”
