Heineken®’s Open Your World campaign asks the UK to break down barriers and find common ground

As part of the ‘Open Your World’ campaign (the video for which went viral worldwide over summer) Heineken have partnered with unique not-for-profit charity The Human Library for a series of events in the UK that bring the campaign message ‘there is more that unites than divides us’ to life.

Every ‘book’ in The Human Library is a real person with an extraordinary background – from street sleepers and refugees, to people with mental health issues. Each ‘book’ can be loaned out for a conversation, a debate and a chance to find common ground in a relaxing pub environment.

The aim of this event is to give locals the chance to talk to someone who has been a victim of prejudice at some point in their life, to break down barriers and bring together people who may not otherwise get the chance to talk in this type of environment. The feedback from previous events has been exceptional, with guests leaving their conversations with a deeper understanding of, and new perspective on, a whole host of topics.

This event will be open to residents of Greater Manchester on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis and take place at the Bird I’th Hand pub on Friday afternoon (29th Sept). A maximum of two tickets are available per person
