Rum ‘n’ Pumpkin Carving, a Twelve Hour Halloween Party, Bottomless Brunch and Live Music from The Pen & Pencil!
Open seven days a week, The Pen and Pencil is well known for its inventive take on brunch, a twist on a classic cocktail, and as a place where daytime chills turn into long evenings out. Coming up over October, events at The Pen and Pencil include:
OCTOBER EVENTS
Rum ‘n’ Pumpkin Carving – Thursday 25th October from 7pm
Ready to get your spook on? Rum fans can to head down to The Pen and Pencil for some heady halloween festivities and an evening of rum drinkin’ and pumpkin carvin’. Mancs are invited to ‘pimp their pumpkin’ and create their very best resting witch face for a chance to win a rummy good prize. To get the creativity flowing, carvers are provided with a speciality rum cocktail on arrival with El Dorado rum tasters throughout the night. Pumpkins and carving tools provided, artistic skills not included.

All Day Halloween Party including a one-off Bottomless Brunch – Saturday 29th 2om-2am
This October the Pen and Pencil are hosting 12 hours of pure Halloween horrors! The spooktacular kicks off at 2pm with a disco bottomless brunch, and for £40pp guest can make the most of 3 hours of free flowing food and booze with DJ Bucky bringing the skelefun ‘til 8pm. Brunchers are invited to try Steak and Eggs, Breakfast Hash and American Style Pancakes, of course not forgetting all the breakfast classics too along with five bottomless drinks choices to start the Halloween celebrations in style.
As the party continues attendees are invited to get their ghoul on and dress to unimpress all day. DJ Marco Giannini takes over the decks from 8pm helping to creep it real until 2am for the ultimate halloween event with £5 cocktails on offer throughout the evening.
Not feeling scary enough? The Pen and Pencil have invited a helping hand and professional makeup artist to give halloween enthusiasts a makeunder free of charge! If you’ve got it, haunt it!
Entry to the party is free.

The Pen & Pencil Weekends
The Pen and Pencil have cherry-picked an eclectic range of some of the best DJs in Manchester to entertain guests every weekend ’til 2am. Expect everything from disco, funk, house, soul and chilled grooves every Friday and Saturday night!
Highlights this month include Duncan Wallis, David Dunne, Sam Flannagan, Goldteeth’s Yung Jozy, Paulette and Jamie Bull.

Pencils Down Quiz Night
Tuesday night is quiz night at The Pen and Pencil. ‘Pencils Down’ is the weekly themed quiz hosted by Quizimodo himself, John Stansfield. Entry is £1 per person and the winner takes it all with the best team name also winning a prize.
The quiz takes place every Tuesday from 7.30pm – £1 quiz entry per person (pre-booking is recommended).
Wine and Dine Wednesdays with Live Music
Every Wednesday The Pen and Pencil are inviting Mancs to join them for a night of live music, with a bottle of wine and two main meals all for just £30. Acts confirmed in October include Nick Steed, Piano Bloker, Yemi Bolatiwa, Gin & Jazz, Matthew Bradford, and Bourbon and Blues with Walklate and Lawley.
Live music begins at 7pm every Wednesday – free entry
Bottomless Brunch
For those who may be a little more serious about their first meal of the day, The Pen and Pencil are serving up their Bottomless Brunch for those who just can’t decide which delicious dish to eat first. With a grand total of seven dishes on offer, as well as five breakfast drinks to choose from, the Bottomless Brunch is sure to be a game changer for any self professed breakfast connoisseurs. Options include Steak and Eggs, Breakfast Hash and American Style Pancakes, of course not forgetting all the breakfast classics too! Diners are well and truly spoilt for choice. Bookings for the Bottomless Brunch must be made in advance!
Priced at £40 per person, and runs on the last Saturday of each month from 10am.
