Belle Vue Speedway have announced that teenage sensation Kyle Bickley has become a full asset of the club, two years after pledging his future to the world-famous organisation.

Bickley, who celebrates his sixteenth birthday today, will return to the National Speedway Stadium amongst the core riders of the 2018 defending National League Champions, the Belle Vue Colts.

In February 2016, at just 14 years old, he signed a Letter of Intent outlining his desire to ride for the club when he became eligible, a promise he fulfilled last year in his British Speedway debut.

He thoroughly impressed both on and off the track, with exceptional performances on the bike matched by his highly professional and mature approach to his racing.

Bickley said: “A lot has happened in the two years since I signed that letter. It feels like only yesterday really, and now to have signed as a full Belle Vue asset is a dream come true.

“It means so much to me to be a part of such an historic club. From being their mascot to joining the Colts last year, I’ve enjoyed every minute and I’m really looking forward to the new season.

“The club is so well-run and the stadium is magnificent. The management are fantastic and the fans are some of the best in the country. A rider in my position couldn’t ask for more than that.

“I could quite happily spend my entire career with Belle Vue. It’s where I’ve always wanted to be and I’m committed to giving 100 percent to the team, hopefully, for many years to come.”

The reigning National League Champions will take to the NSS track as a team for the first time on March 30, Good Friday, at 1pm where they’ll launch their title defence against the Coventry Bees.
