Oldham Council Outdoor & Environmental Education Service is organising the 15th Annual Oldham Way Challenge, this year to be held on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July 2016.

The Challenge involves a hike of approximately 40 miles spread over 2 days (taking in most of the Oldham Way), starting and finishing at Daisy Nook Country Park, with the Castleshaw Centre as the end of day one and the start of day two.

This is a non-competitive event for groups, families and individuals, celebrating and enjoying this fine route around Oldham. Experienced hill walkers can take up the Challenge with the advantage of the event support, whilst others may like to join a Guided Walk along the route.

The entry fee for the event is £6.50 (cheques made payable to Oldham Council). This includes the provision of staffed checkpoints with water, safety cover for the event and transport shuttles to and from the Castleshaw Centre.

Whether you are interested in participating as an individual, as part of a team, or with your family, the Oldham Way Challenge offers a rewarding event to get involved in this summer. It could provide an excellent opportunity for you to raise money for a charity of your choice, or you can join us for all or part of the 2 days, just to get some healthy exercise in the great outdoors….
