The inaugural This is Manchester Awards will take place on 8 November at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate and will celebrate the incredible talent Greater Manchester has at its heart, the best of the best!

Hundreds of businesses and individuals nominated themselves and entries have been judged independently by our panel which includes BRIT Awards’ Ged Doherty and ex-footballer Joleon Lescott & BBC’s Kate Squire.

The shortlisted businesses, organisations, charities and individuals across 14 varied categories champion and represent those rooted in Manchester within; fashion, entertainment, sports, hospitality, food & drink, the night time economy as well as individuals & organisations who have contributed to the community within Manchester and beyond – a real multi-sector awards.

Recognising the 100 years of female suffrage, the 2018 shortlist features nine inspirational women nominated for ‘Centenary Woman of the Year’ for their amazing contribution to the region. Nominees include business leaders Jennie Johnson (MBE) CEO of Kids Allowed, Carole Nash,OBE,Founder of Carole Nash Insurance, Seems Malhotra, Founder of Forever Unique and Gail Jones, Founder UKFast; sports personalities, Tracey Neville (MBE) and Dianne Modahl (MBE) plus key figures including Dr Robina Shah (MBE) High Sheriff for Greater Manchester.

Monies raised on the 8th November will all be donated to the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Homelessness Fund and a special Super Nova award chosen by the judges on the night will also be given at the glitzy awards bash.
