Four properties were evacuated overnight as a precaution after a wall  collapsed at Oakwood Mill on Grenville Street in Stalybridge.

An inspection by the Manchester Fire Service Found that three floors of the building inside had collapsed.

There were no injuries and with the fire service making the area safe, residents were allowed back in their homes around 10.00pm.

The Grade II listed Mill which was built in the 1850’s has been derelict since the late 1980’s
