Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25 year old man man was killed when a car collided with a motorbike in Oldham, and the driver failed to stop yesterday evening.

Karl Hope from Oldham recieved multipe injuries when the black Kawasaki motorbike he was ridingcollided with a green Ford Fiesta on the A627, Chadderton Way around 5.20pm

He was taken to hospital where he sadly later died.

It is believed the motorbike collided with the back of a black Mercedes-Benz then a black Mini before the rider collided with the green Ford Fiesta.

The driver of the Fiesta, registration number Y603 MDN, failed to stop so now police are appealing for witnesses to help locate the driver.

PC Paul Joynson from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Team said: “My thoughts are with the Karl’s family at this devastating time. This is such a tragedy.

“We are now appealing for people to come forward and tell us what they saw, this happened in rush-hour traffic, people will have witnessed this horrific collision.

“The driver of the green Ford Fiesta stopped momentarily before driving away from the scene, so they know they were involved.

“I am appealing for the driver to make contact with police as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may know who the driver of the Ford Fiesta is, or may have seen the car abandoned.

“A man has tragically lost his life, I want to be in a position to give his family the answers they deserve.”
