Manchester’s People’s History Museum has a new patron.

Journalist and currently longest serving presenter of Channel Four news, Jon Snow will be joining the museum’ s list of patrons.

Jon Snow said, ‘I’m delighted to be a Patron of the People’s History Museum.  This is such an important institution, and the only one of its kind in the country.  The way the museum tells the story of the British people’s fight for democracy is wonderful.  This is the history of ordinary working people, told in interesting and engaging ways.  Every adult and child in the country should come and enjoy this place.’

Jon recently opened the museum’s current exhibition, Election Britain votes and commented ‘I had not worked out how good an exhibition about elections could be, it’s completely thrilling, it brings the whole thing to life.’

Katy Ashton, Director of the People’s History Museum said, ‘As a Patron, Jon is a fantastic advocate for the museum and what we stand for.  We are delighted that he has agreed to become a Patron, and look forward to working with him in the future.’
