Two goals from Dominic Smith, a James Hampson  header and a Brandon Zibaka penalty saw Droylsden records their third successive league win against a New Mill’s team yet to win a point this season.

The Bloods went into the game on the back of a midweek victory against high flying Glossop North End but the home side had chances to take the lead with striker Niall Sultan shooting wide after a defensive slip and the same player producing a fine save from Craig Ellison after springing the offside trap.

At the other end James Hampson shot weakly at keeper Oliver Martin after being out through.

The Bloods took the lead on the quarter hour from the penalty spot after full back Ben Barber was brought down in the area, Brandon Zibaka squeezing the ball in the left hand corner after the keeper guessed the right way.

And it should have been two after skipper Domaine Rouse carved through the midfield supplying the ball for Hampson to cross only the ball to fly over the advancing attackers.

Droylsden pressed for a second, Dominic Smith cracking a blistering shot against the cross bar and the ball stayed in the home team’s half up to the break.

It wasn’t long into the second half before the Bloods got their second, a brilliant cross from Zibaka headed home by James Hampson.

A brilliant run into the area by Ben Barber set up Nathan Haynes who was denied with a fine save by the keeper.

The Bloods brought on Billy Hasler Cregg and Danny McLoghlin and the extra pace down the flanks opened the floodgates.

Minutes later it was three as Hasler Cregg crossed for Dominic Smith to slot home and victory was assured after sixty eight minutes when the same player beat the defence to a threw ball firing into the net.

It should have been more Hasler Cregg and McLoughlin had great chances to increase the lead.

New Mills scored a consolation after a free kick from substitute Ben Connolly was parried into the path of Jack Pritchard but this was three welcome points for the Bloods who travel to Mossley on Tuesday night.
