A 24-year-old man was left with life threatening injuries after a collision in Ashton-under-Lyne on Easter Monday.
The accident happened around 1.40pm when police were called to reports of a collision involving a Kawasaki ER650 motorcycle on Kings Road at the junction with Weymouth Road.

The motorcycle had collided with the kerb and both the motorcycle and rider had collided with a wall, leaving him with serious head injuries.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police Constable Paul Shore, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and we still need to establish exactly what has happened here.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or perhaps saw the motorcycle travelling in the build-up to the collision, to get in touch with us as soon as possible. You could hold vital information.”

Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
